Back with Vengeance...

Oi! Firstly: travismagazine.wordpress.com.

It's been awhile and this post is really, just for me to flex some creative ability or lack thereof. Here's what's wrong with the world today: advertisements. Everywhere you go: movies, bus ride, those eight minutes to every 30 on TV, radio, (definitely newspapers), everything you buy transforms you into a walking one (so, definitely ubiquitous), and Times Square.

They're hard to miss -- hence their point. They're effective because they're so insistent. Do you control what you buy or are you 'persuaded' to buy items based on omnipresent ads. Just a thought. That's why marketing is so bloody effective. Why do stoners go to see Pineapple Express? No brainer. Note for another day: people, I mean the world, works on being "a part of something" -- we love groups and belonging. But I digress.

The thing is advertisements (usually) bug people, but we simply accept them and let them burn subliminal or (not-so-subliminal) messages into our retinas. But shite, like we can fight off advertisements. And on that note, there are no regulations on being "green" for companies (thus far) and therefore can use green logos to boost their sales my 10 dillion per cent, because we think we are helping the environment and doing our part by purchasing environmentally-friendly latex paint.

And that's what's wrong with the world today.
